I need an amp for my DT990 600 ohm (well, I'm waiting for them to arrive). Would the MK2 be a good choice? Or is the MK3 a must have? I can't use that much money so I'm trying to get something used.

I'm a noob so this will be my first tube amp.

The Little Dot MKII would be fine for the DT990/600s.  That amp is OTL (operation transformer-less), which means it has some serious horsepower to drive high impedance headphones, like your DT990s.

If you could afford it, the Mk III would be a better choice.

Also, it has really good potential for tube rolling and is capable of great sound.

Of course there is the Mk IV etc etc etc....

But since you are asking between the MK II and Mk III. Mk III then. :)
