I have some Beyer DT880's and were working fine for around 6 months when the sound almost completely disappeared from the right side, to the point where you can only hear a really fuzzy sound out of that side if you turn them right up, although it does sound like whatever you are listening to, it's not just a indistinct fuzz if you know what I mean.

Just wondering what you guys think the problem might be and if I can fix it. Help appreciated.

The wire going through the headband is busted.

Can you fix it:
maybe.

Are you experienced in the fine craft of soldering?
If you are:
undo the headband pad
open the cups (pull off pads, there are little circular clips, they pop out with a screwdriver carefully placed between them and the outer shell, then the drivers and mounting boards fall out)
unsolder the cross-wires from both sides.
solder in new wires. Dont forget strain relief.
reassemble.

If you are not:
Send them to any of your favorite cable guys with $$$$ for a new cable. Alternately sell them on the FS forum.
