Hi!

DT990 250Ohm really need an amp. Although DT990 are the flagship of Beyerdynamic in DT series butmDT880 sound better. Not necessarily need to have $100 amp, FiiO E10/E11 good enough

Billson :)

Hello, so i was wondering which one is better if i don´t use amp. I was reading a lot about dt 990 and i guess i would need to pay atleast another 100$ for amp to power them up. There is not a lot reviews about dt 440 but they are well known as 'Underrated Headphones'. So what would you recommend me ?

What source(s) are you planning on plugging the headphones into?

if you're not using an amp you should keep your phones >= 32ohms.

Personally for gaming I really like my Ultrasone HFI-780s, they're pretty efficient and sound decent directly from my iPhone.

You can consider Sennheiser HD 558.

These have 50mm drivers so they're great for gaming due to the added bass.

they also don't require much power, they're pretty efficient and low impedance, your sound card should drive them just fine.
