I'm just curious how many people are using a power condtioner, UPS, surge protector, etc. vs. plugging directly into the wall. So, which do you do?

I use a SACDmods power conditioner and love it. IMHO, it makes a significant difference especially in a condo complex

Yes, mine is a little different and custom built with two recepticals and twice the inside guts (whatever is in there) but same ugly box that does an amazing job.

Just a surge suppressing power strip. One of these days I'll get around to building one with a switch that physically disconnects the gear from the line, just to make sure.

Also, slightly off topic, but I install a RF/EMI filter in every DIY project. Haven't tested whether they work, but they're only $3 and no trouble to install.

I use a Tripp-Lite Isobar 4 Ultra for some stuff and for my main gear I use a Tripp-Lite Hospital Grade Isolation Transformer.

i learned to go the direct route with a nice dedicated line and a great outlet but that's it! any conditioners or crap only will hurt the sound..esp in speaker use.

Your post is misleading. If you live in a house with clean power, that's fine. But many of us live in apartments and a power conditioner is an absolute requirement.
