Do you always buy the most expensive phones you can afford?

Well, I buy the audio equipment that are great bang-for-buck like most people and for headphones, suits my needs out of it, including the best SQ possible of course. The result = not always the most expensive. This is where used equipment carves up.

I just bought the most expensive headphones I could theoretically afford for little over half the local prize... does that count?

No. That would be stupid.

I buy the headphones i want, at the lowest price i can find.

Even if it takes me six months, as in the case of the $150 ESP/950.

i don't think it's true, sometimes the cheaper may be better for you. Let me choose between klipsch Image X10, or Phonak. I take the Phonak. half the price, but i prefer it more.

But if Phonak had another model at the price of the X10 that you liked even more?
