email for me. ONLY email. not IM and not any other kind of 'quick comms'.

these days, email is instant. for me, its trouble free, virus free (I use 15 year old ELM as my mail UI, no GUI stuff here for mail).

at work they wanted me to join the IM crowd. I said 'no thanks, you can get me via mail if you need me'. it works. and I don't miss being 'tethered' like that.

I still can't understand why mail isn't good enough. it works, its understood and again, it works.
