well i got currious as BOL were always going on about how awsome it is, created an account and thought hmmm unless i sit infront of the comp all day this isnt much good. oh yeah and none of my friends use it either sodont think ive ever loged back in to it

i can see places where it would have great uses but for most people its a pointless idea

I don't give a rats ass what people are doing from minute to minute and I hope they don't want to know what I'm doing. Facebook status updates are more than enough for that kind of idle social paracitism.

well in normal days twitter is pretty ignorable for me too.

but during some events..its great to get the latest from people..many update it on mobile when they are at the event venue..so its pretty raw.

Facebook updates are more of personal messages

I tried Twitter and Plurk. Not my thing. There's too many spam-like "tweets" to sift through so it wasn't practical or useful to me.

I did read a news article about how Twitter helped some student get out of jail in Egypt. He tweeted "arrested" and his followers came to his rescue. Nocturnal310, keep that in mind... just in case.

Twitter... great, another way to have my privacy invaded. It's never going to dawn on too many people until its too late that we've posted, blogged, photobucketed and facebooked all our thoughts and personal secrets away. I'm a little scared of the internet that way. I used to be pleased that when i did a google search of my name scant few things turned up. i recently did a search and googles search worm now has five times as many bits of my life in its banks, i dont really like that i feel theres something inherently creepy about others (who i may or may not be familar with) knowing my tastes, thoughts and habits. To be constantly twittering away my personal opinions into a database someWhere frightens me and people ought to have more sense. The Chinese have learned that the hard way.

here you go. keep posting those "funny photos' on facebook.

The Associated Press: SC sheriff is investigating Phelps' pot pipe photo

I work for a newspaper (fact revealed on the web) and today a huge amount of journalism is conducted by scouring the web and sites like youtube and facebook. The minute youre arrested, killed or a suspect in a case, reporters are pulling your mugshot off your websites and web postings and sifting through your postings. it's standard procedure these days for reporters.
