It's been almost 2 months since I run my hd800 with the new mod SuperDupont, invented by sorrodje. I like it a lot. Previously, I had my hd800 modded using rug liners only. Now, SD mod and dust cover only.

This mod brought a new height to hd800-Stratus pairing! Highly recommended! It made me listening to hd800 more than he1000 nowadays

Fortunately for me, it seems i'll soon be able to enjoy the same experience than you and I hope I'll be as happy as all Stratus owners here. 
 
@jsgraha : Did you change your fav' tube combination after the "Superdupont" mod ? What are you using right now ?

Interestingly, I currently enjoy the tubes combo which previously I liked with he1000, U52- TJ Full Music/SE. Shuguang Natural C-T still quite good, but it's a bit too rich with SD Mod, while Sophia Princess is a bit too wet.

It will be interesting to try KR 2a3. Hopefully, I can find a pair locally

I already have a pair of KRaudio 2A3 I bought recently and a pair of NOS Miniwatt Visseaux Donald measured and listened for me. Seems they're really good but I feel the presumably more neutral KRaudio will do the trick for my HD800SD . I'll grab a pair of Mazda or philipps 6BQ7a asap and see how is the result.  I haven't any U52 yet but already a bunch of well regarded 5U4G to roll.

IMO, U52 is a game changer with the KR tubes!

My Stratus is scheduled to arrive next month and I want to buy a pair of 2a3 tubes that will match both the HEK and the HD800. Thinking about the KR 2a3 or EML Solids. Any suggestions?

Both are excellent tubes for the Stratus, but if I can only choose one, I will go with KR audio as it is more transparent and thus more versatile. I will then match with a richer sounding rectifier tube like U52 or psvane 274B for HD800.

As much as I love my U52, I think I prefer the EML 5U4G with KRs. Subject to change without notice.

You're referring to pairing the LCD-3 and not the HD800, right?

Vast majority of folks on this forum are HD 800 and Audeze guys, but just wanted to say that the Alpha Primes are superb with the Stratus. I had been thinking of upgrading, but I really can't seem to justify it with the sound I'm getting with the Stratus and Musical Paradise MP-D2 dac.
