Can the Stratus take the WE422A rectifier as a direct substitute? Or is there a mod involved. Curious what everyone is using for 2A3s as well.

The Stratus will take a WE422a without any modifications and sounds great. There is a lot of historical discussion in the thread about 2A3 preferences.

Pangea cables are a good bang for the buck and always a good place to start. The AC9SE is fairly hefty, so order a little longer than normal. You will hear an improvement from upgraded power cables.

Talked with Alex and ordered a Wywires Platinum power cord for the Stratus. There is a 40% off sale at Wywires that will end soon.
So to get my ducks in a row. I have seen here that the EML rectifier tube is a nice upgrade. What about their 2A3 power tubes? Sophia has that Aqua rectifier. What about the 300 2.5 power tubes. Any other stand out new available tubes? I have NOS power and rectifier as well as others.

First full day with my Stratus. Listened to several CDs of different genres of music and with Senn 800 S and 600, and Ether C and Ether Flow. The Ether Flow sounds better on the Ragg, but the plain old Ether C sounds a bit sweeter on the Stratus. I have always thought it was sort of a closed HD 800 sounding headphone. A very nice member of this forum sent me a PM and sold me two special 6n1ps. Anybody here tried the new Senn 820 with their Stratus?

What are the best headphones to pair with the Stratus? We all know that the HD 600, 800 and 800S sound great on the Stratus. Are there any other headphones that shine when driven by the Stratus?? HD 660 ?, Beyerdynamic? ???????????

My modded hd650 are end game for my liking. Using them with the stellaris as my main.

I just have to ask what did you do to your HD 650s for mods to get them where they are today?
