Has anyone tried making cables with expensive wires offers from Lunashop? Trying to get some high purity silver wire + gold plated. Only legit? brand seems to be neotech (GP-OAG-26) which is mostly available in EU (I'm in US).

Hey guys ... I'm building a 1 foot custom Mini-XLR to 3.5mm cable with Mogami 2893 and Paracord 550.
Do I need the shielding or should I just use three of the conductors from the Mogami 2893?
Also, are there any tips or do you just basically put the conductors inside the Paracord and then terminate with the connectors? (do I have to twist the conductors inside the paracord?)

What's the cable for? if you are using it for a balanced signal you should use 2 conductors for +, 2 for - and the shield for ground. If you are using it for headphones in a single ended fashion you could do the same (2 for left, 2 for right, shield for ground), or just take 3 conductors out (which will make it more flexible but you loose some of the protection you get from the shield and sleeve).Hey guys ... It's an unbalanced cable for the DT-1990 (short cable to connect Qudelix 5K DAC/AMP).
It looks like the Mogami 2893 has 3 colored conductors (red, black, and blue) plus a clear conductor.
It sounds like I can just use the red+black+clear for L/R/GND?
Also, sorry for the dumb question but do I remove the string inside the paracord?

Yes.It sounds like I can just use the red+black+clear for L/R/GND?
Just pull it. If one end was melted to prevent fraying then you will need to cut a bit. Also, sorry for the dumb question but do I remove the string inside the paracord?

I would recommend that you use two wires for ground. You have two 'hot' wires trying to dump through only one ground wire. So ..... .

Can anyone recommend me a good braided audio cable model for diy headphones that has low cable noise?
I build several diy headphone an bought quality audio cable and put a nice paracord sleeve over them. Somewhat my own braided cable make. But those cable always have a huge cable noise when touched or rubbing against cloths.
I read that it is recommended to use braided cable as the reduce it a lot but there must be a special combining of materials I'm not getting right. Companies like Westone IEM seemed to eliminate those issues completely.
I have a hard time to find the right cable as meter ware. Can anyone help me in the direction?

Try not to use it, it's unnecessary and looks rubbish, use a nice splitter instead

Still looking for a better quality in line 1/4 in female jack than the Neutrik to make a short custom adapter from 1/4 in to 3.5 mm right angle from headphone to DAP. The cable part will be silver occ litz but need a really high quality female 1/4 inch in line. The best female adapter is the Furutech but don’t think the male end of this one can be taken apart to solder the cable. https://www.ebay.com/itm/163731694440
