Yes I believe the main set connects inside the lidded (black marble?) box on top which is presumably fixed there. So if you want a second set you connect them into the back. IMO very poor design and egonomics for what is likely to be an expensive product,

You just got a marble amp and headphone system for $40,000 US. Are you really worried about connecting another headphone to it? You'd probably have another entire system revolving around that second headphone anyways.

One thing that I do really like is the mirror inside the headphone case. That is a really nice touch. You could probably have one set up in the bathroom, and listen to music while you do your makeup, or shave, or whatever. Really practical.
