A tour to the dethonray HQ today
Big thank you to Anson for hosting the tour and I was able to demo the prototype of the new ltd version of the DTR1. It was definitely an upgrade to the Dtr1 & Dtr1+ with sonic improvement on both phone out and line out.
The case is PVD stainless steel, very well built and sturdy, with the downside of the increase weight due to the choice of material.

Nice. What sound improvements can we expect compared to the DTR1+? It's using the same DAC with the redesign of the LPF circuit and output.

The sound is not final and I shouldn’t say too much about it, but it’s definitely a step up from the dtr1+.
But the craftsmanship of the casing reminds me of high end watch, which gives a premium feel to the overall product.

Thanks. I think it will be available in silver or gold stainless steel chassis. I'm looking forward to it since the DTR1+ was a lovely sounding DAP.

I contacted Anson and he replied that there will be an early bird offer in mid-July. I have made a reservation for the silver one and expect there will be a significant improvement in sound quality. The stainless steel surface looks really good! There may be a delay due to the difficulty of controlling the yield rate during processing.

Now that we have surpassed mid-July, I am eagerly awaiting the early-bird purchase opportunity. Does anyone know when that will happen and what the process looks like?
