@blackgeen15, how is DTR1+ pairing/synergy with C9?
Coz there is a preowned C9 and WA8 in the local market but the CV5 is so good that it’s preventing me from going after either one.
I bought the C9 in March last year, and I have used it every single day at least an hour and sometimes like 4 or more hours, variously with an N6ii with A02 board, DX220Max, and DTR1. DTR1 and 1+ are my favorite. C9 is just by far the best thing I have ever heard. I had a WA8 and I was actually never happy with that, it just sounded kind of stilted to me. OK for gentle music but not for anything rock or heavy. C9 is amazing and does it all, and not only that, gives you four genuinely distinct sounds. It's good with anything except really power hungry headphones. I did use it in tube class A about 90% of the time, but the other modes are good, too.

Thank you so much for the feedback.

Hi, it is left on my desk and not used for maybe 2 or 3 weeks at times.
When I power it on the battery has drained and at times completely flat.
Never had that long off power experience, the longest was 1 week. When I used QLS 360mod more often, the batt drainage might be there but not to the point that I concern, when I fired up I can still enjoy DTR1+ for hours

Can you tell us more specific do you let it in drawer? Does not happened with mine, a regular daily usage.

I believe this was a known issue with the original DTR1. I use my DTR1 so much that I've never left it unused for even a week. But I do remember that some people had trouble when they left it unused for many weeks. I don't know the root cause of that issue.

Hi, anyone using DTR1+ with Etymotic ER4XR or Tin P2? would like to hear some feedback about it..
I use the original DTR1 with the Etymotic ER2XR (so, a dynamic driver). I used the ER4S for a very long time with various DAPs but I have been sticking with this combination since I bought the DTR1 in 2020 and I'm enjoying it very much. I believe it was @F700 who recommended that combination. I have never tried the ER4XR. I've seen lots of posts/reviews where people do actually prefer the 2XR to the 4XR but I haven't compared them myself. I know that the 2XR is less accurate than my old ER4S but - especially with the power and quality of the DTR1 - I prefer the 2XR to the ER4S.

ER4SR and ER4XR are both balanced armature - one driver. I believe ER2 was their first dynamic driver - and much less expensive. I cannot imagine an ER4 being too metallic or bright. The biggest thing about Etymotic is usually the fit - some people cannot wear them comfortably.

Not to me. The whole ER4 range plays well with warmer, more musical sources and shines with more power but if you have all that you should be fine.

I reckon most of the metallic and bright comments come when folks don’t get a good seal.

If I had to describe what I was trying to get out of my rig sonically, I would say "Yes" or "All of it." Absolutely maxed out in every respect, details, bass, layers, extension, imaging just the best possible, and I would have to say that DTR1+ > Cayin C9 > Diana Phi or just DTR1+ > Monarch MkII pretty much works for me. Except for this: So I am a huge fan of Beach House, and I was so excited when the new album "Once Twice Melody" came out. Problem was, I had a really hard time listening to the mix on that record. With my regular gear the mix just sounded really bad, noisy and distracting. DTR1 > Porta Pros totally works, sounds sweet and beautiful, very analog and old school.
