Hi, anyone using DTR1+ with Etymotic ER4XR or Tin P2? would like to hear some feedback about it..
Good combo! DTR1+
thanks for ur reply,
hmm wordering if the ER4S or XR will it be too metallic or bright?
I have westone w60, it is very comfortable with DTR1+. so I think 4XR will also be good!

So I got a new toy, and I am just in love with it. Diana Phi's sounded good with C9 amp + DTR1+, but the bass is just phenomenal out of this. DTR1 slightly edges out 1+ in this combo, just better synergy. So, the bass: anything electronic with sub bass blows doors. But then, switching over to Yes "Owner of a Lonely Heart" is even more impressive. Everything else is crystal clear, Romi BX 2 Plus is powerful and transparent and lets the DTR detail and dynamism through. When the bass comes in, it is tactile, fast, and just slightly reverberant, and the thing I find really cool is that it doesn't touch anything else. It's like a different driver suddenly pops into existence, and leaves everything else untouched.

The AMP look very nice, how about the sound signature?

transparent and clean. I have a Vorzuge Pure II+ and it is kind of like that but more bass, like a lot more bass extension. I have a C9 that went back to Cayin for repairs, so I can't really A/B them, but from memory, C9 was probably technically better with more detail and better imaging, especially with the tubes it has a lot of 3 dimensionality, but this is very very good and the C9 couldn't drive these Phi's to the point where you could get the full bass potential. Plus I think I think overall the C9 was a bit colored. For DTR1 I think I like this better, but I would have to do a side by side comparison.

I like the PO of DTR1, especially for dynamic units, a little like the sense of tube. I tried C9 last year, tube mode is not my favorite timbre, fell a little slow and doesn't have a strong sense of strength. so your new toy may be attractive to me. lol.

It is a really awesome device, now that I have spent more time with it, I Iike it just as much or more then the first impression. The only other thing that I have tried with it is DX220 max but the DTR1+ has this very dynamic sound that really shines with this amp.

Yes, it is great. The main downsides though is battery, screen and a lack of EQ.

It is definitely a 'take it or leave it' sort of deal. It 150% works for me, the sound makes me so happy. I will take this over convenience and amenities any day, but I can see how it would not work for many people.

Totally agree with you, I enjoy it as well, sound is the most important thing.

My full video review on the DTR1+ Prelude Music Player and Tender 1 IEMs from Dethonray, sold & supported by Linsoul Audio is live now!!

Boutique Products are a huge reason why we have access to some special products, those two being pretty interesting, limited run units, a traditional music player, but with a superb sound, and the planar magnetic IEMS designed for it

I hope my review is fun to watch, helps you kickstart the week with a smile, and that it will motivate you to subscribe to Audiophile-Heaven

I have a card reading issue with my DTR-1...

I use a Sandisk Extreme card filled with about 400 GB of Flac files.
Yesterday I added a single MP3 file on the microSD card. When I started the player, it entered a loop mode with something like ”reading card” and an icon flashing continuously.

When I check this card in my Windows computer it says ”repair/correcting error", and then the card seems ok again - for Windows. But not for Dtr1.
Micro SD card is red flawlessly by my other DAPs.

I bought this Dtr1 used, so I don't have a long experience. The last time I tried to update the audio files, I had to reformat the card, and then copy all the files on the card at once (only solution to avoid the flashing loop). Then the card was recognised and afterwards no reading issue...

But there must be an easier way when I want to add new files... :frowning2:

Any idea ?

yes, I had the same problem. What it turned out to be was one folder in my collection had titles that included all sorts of weird characters, widgets, and strange formatting. When I pulled that folder out and changed all the titles to standard font, no problems
