Aha, so you might've gotten the bright version too.

Creaking/knocking's by the headband holders, this could be helped by padding the cups' holes with some material (a bit of plastic or fabric).

Probably. Mine are also the black and grey with black pads and I actually find they're colder/darker than what I'm used to. I have to raise the volume on my rockboxed D2 a bit more than usual. But they sound just fine, exactly what I've been looking for.

Considering buying these Denon.I'm wondering if tthey are better than SENNHEISER EH-250? Any idea? I 'm going to use them as HIFI phones and these 2 models almost cost the same. I'm listening to rock/hard rock music mostly. Thanks

I reside in Greece and there are quite a few retailers here.

Thing is, there're two versions - "bright" and "dark". The "bright" ones are precise, hi-fi, etc. etc. The "dark" ones are muter by something like 8-10 dB, and don't have the beautiful treble of the "bright" version. So you may get lucky, and get the "bright" version. Or not. The "bright" ones, recabled and modded, are superior stuff. The "dark" ones are kinda dull.

Dangermouse got himself some "bright" that were sitting in stock for a while. Looks like "bright" are early production, "dark" are late/current-production.

Here of the two white sets, the "bright" had grey pads, and the "dark" black pads.

Nah, they're already gone.

You could buy Denon DJ DN-HP500. They're more expensive, but they're an upgrade from AH-P372. Not as muddy and boomy and hard-hitting as K-81, either.
