Denon AH-D9200 - 2018 Flagship - Impressions Thread

Sorry guys!
I've given up on selling this beast.
If you have a very good cabriolet car, you can spend a few great days a year with it, but it's worth it.
Why shouldn't the Denon 9200 live with me any longer
I‘m in a somewhat similar situation, using my D9200 not that often. Though every time I do use it (sometimes as a „lets just check before selling it“), I really want to keep it. It *is* an excellent headphone after all.

Fully agree, still one of the best closed-back options around!

If there's a closed back more enjoyable than the D9200, I'd love to know, because I haven't found it.

For my tastes, it's better than the Stellia, TH900, every DCA including the Stealth, and the few Kennertons I've heard.

TH900 MK2, Z1R, Audio Technica flagship closed back ones? Have you tried any of them?
I've owned the TH900mk2 and sold them when I got the D7200.

The other two, I haven't heard but will look into them.

Which Kennerton cans? If you can recall, what did you prefer about the 9200?

I've heard the Magni and Rognir dynamic, but I didn't own the D9200 until much after that.

What I like about the D9200 is that it's easy to listen to for all genres, and has plenty of detail though never fatiguing... and enough low end that I'm not left wanting more.

It's one of two headphones that I never see myself letting go of, the other being the Elite.

From what I remember, the Denon D9200 delivered a very resolving and balanced sound. But I noticed I would reach out to my Kennerton GH50 MK2 more often simply because it was more fun especially in the bass area. I also didn't like a harsh treble peak in D9200, not to mention the headband discomfort. And eventually I sold the D9200. But then I realized I missed that detailed sound and clarity. So I recently bought a custom open back Sash Tres to compensate in that area. The DCA Stealth is on my radar. It was one of the closed back cans I liked at CanJam. But I think it's crazy expensive.

I don't get this so much on the D9200, but I'm pairing it with a Pontus. Also, I use a padded cover over the headband... not just for comfort but to prolong its life.

I have suffered your same experience two times... If the treble peak is annoying to you with some treble focused albums, I suggest to you to just low a little the volume... That's what I did and no more issues with them... :L3000: Right now, enjoying a lot "Alice Cooper - Trash" with them  Also, sometimes, you have to get accustomed to their energetic character with some seconds or minutes of playing music (if you come from a more relaxing pair of headphones).

What headband cover are you using with these?

Hey guys,

did anyone had a chance to compare Denon ah-9200 and Meze Liric? I watched many reviews for both of those and they seem like similar category but still Denon is 500$ cheaper.
