What is a good 1/4 to 1/8 adapter for the D7000's? Just bought some and I only use it with 1/4" equipment...

Well, if you only use it with 1/4" gear, why do you need the adapter??

Anyhow, Grado makes a good one.

Hi guys,

I am considering either the HD800 or D7000 for my next purchase.

The HD800 is Aus$2000 and the D7000 $2100 - dearer than 800. I just auditioned 800 and thought AMAZING in the first few minutes - after perhaps 15 minutes I realised fatigue is kicking in hard. I cannot audition D7000 - must be ordered in.

I own hd650 and K701 - I LOVE the 650 with tubes. The 701 also gets fatiguing after a while - but not as quick as with the HD800 - the store had 701 for me to compare and, after the fatigue from the top end of the 800, going to the 701 was a relief, It sounded warmer. BUT I always felt the 701 was stone cold precise - not warm.

The 650 sound is what I crave. How much of an improvement is the D7000 over the 650. The reason I consider is that I have Shure SE530 and they are the bass champions to me - I want to merge the 650 with bass of SE530 = D7000?

Any owners of both 650 and D7000 in particular?

Thanks.

I am also the owner of k701 and I also can't listen for long period of time due to a headache.. I listen more on my westone 3.. I am also looking at d7000 as well as d5000. From what I read so far d7000 is the best can for the money. Some critics said bass is awesome on denon.

I own 650 and D5000, I would strongly suggest going for HD800, denons are totally different beasts, until you hear them don`t order them by any chance

I forgot to mention I heard D2000 when I heard HD800 and the D2000 seems to be a definite downgrade whilst the HD800 is far superior - There is none of the WARMTH that the HD650 addicted me with. If the D2000 is anything to go by then it is likely there is no "upgrade" option for my preferences. Tell me it isn't so.

It looks like it is as you fear

if you didn't like the d2000 at all then you probably shouldnt get the d7000 at least not without listening to them first.

Hi Hawat,

You have HD650, HD800 and D7000. In your opinion if you were coming from 650 would and your choice is 800 or 7000 - which would you buy...

ye see, I am just itchin to enter the next strata of headphones from the 650/702 levels - these are two are my choices. "Burn - in" will take care of unfamiliarity, if ya know what I mean.

Cheers.

It is, D7000 is definitely big brother of D2000 and sound signature is very similar

I would take the d7000 but my taste may be quite different from yours. For exemple I don't find hd800 fatiguing at all and can use them for hours without problem same for the d7000 though.

You need to listen to them and decide for yourself. We all have different taste and hear different. For instance I own the HD650 twice. The first time with stock cable and SAA Equinox cable both single ended. The second time with Silver Dragon single ended and RAL balanced cable. Both time I thought they sounded good but borring compared to the D7000 (which by the way is far superior to the D2000 and better than the D5000 IMO). Now I own the HD800 and I like them a lot better than the HD650 even using thier stock single ended cable. They are in a burning process for the balanced DHC Complement cable.
The HD800 and the D7000 are totally differnt animals that complement each other. I am keeping both.

By the way I listen to the K701 with a Raptor amp in a friend's home and i did not like the K701 at all. The sounded to thin to me.
