@HeadphoneAddict I remember seeing your posts probably way back in 2008 and 2009. Awesome you still have the Denons after all this time and it's a testament to their quality. I'm still enamoured by my D2ks, not if and what I'd upgrade to, but I'd want to hear he D7000. Closest I've heard is a TH900, and I very much liked them.

I'd had some modded D2000 before the modded D7000 and it was a big step up in sound. I was doing a review for Lawton Audio and just had to buy the loaner pair, and it wasn't cheap but they were that good. When I heard the first TH900 that were ever demo'd they didn't sound very good at all, and I gave them some major feedback about what was wrong (I posted my findings in the RMAF thread that year). So I was quite surprised the next year when the final TH900 blew me away via the April Music DAC/amp at Drew's Moon-Audio's booth. If my Denon were to ever die I could always pick up a TH900, unless they screw them up somehow.

I've been very happy with where I'm at with headphones and IEM, so I kinda dropped out of the picture from trying to get the biggest and the best headphone rig, and pursued my other hobby, watches.

Perhaps a 3D Printed part can do it for you??

You can always google a bit and try to find what kind of plastic ring they come with...
The other way is to locate a 3D printing company around your hometown in which they can scan the broken part and try to create a new one stiff enough.

The ultimate and most bizarre way is, us proud owners of our Denon AH-DX000 headphones, stand up united and start a signature collect campaign at Change.org in which we can officially ask Denon to arrange a new production batch of spare parts. :)

Reterminated my AH-D7000 with detachable cables (here the Sony Kimber Cable, which screws on to the Lumberg jacks I used perfectly). Dekoni Hybrid pads are much more comfortable than the stock pads.

I am curious if anyone has thoughts on how the Denon AH-D7000 (or D7200) stack up again the Oppo PM-3, the Shure SRH-1540, and/or the MrSpeakers Aeon Closed?

I have been searching for a closed back headphone. I know these are all different price points.

The only sealed headphone I have owned was the TH-X00 and I really felt like they sounded too "dark" or too "thick." If that makes sense. I really like my HE-400i and I used to own the LCD-2 which I also really liked. Leaning towards the Oppo or maybe the MrSpeakers.

I intend on getting the Monolith Desktop Amp when it gets released at the end of the month.

That's funny, I was going to ask if anyone had re-terminated to go balanced.
