Denon AH-7200

When using stock cables, the loaner is more airy and transparent than my pair. Not by much, but its noticeable.

However, when I run mine in balanced mode, they are the winner: they are more dynamic, there is more air and clarity in sound
This is clearly indicative to both driver burn in (to loosen the flexible surround),
And the amplifier damping factor.
Your amp prob have a weak output.

A stiffer cone surround will exhibit more resistance and your amp single ended out is prob weaker enough to hear the difference , while the balanced out clearly pushes the newer unit better.

Has anyone gotten a pair of D7200s with yokes that have a scratchy feeling when the cups are rotated
There is probably a bad batch issue with some units,
Because any creaking is a sign of missing internal plastic washers.

I must say that i have to change my mind about D7200. They are quite amazing when paired with the right gear.

When the pairing was right these brutally outclassed my T1.2 and not mine any more Sonorous VI.

Also D7200 scale beautifully and their forgiving nature makes them safe bet for ease of listening and lower quality gear pairings.

Big thumbs up.

Has anyone of you meanwhile shortened the original cable or replaced the 6.3mm plug of it?
I've got a balanced cable by now, but the magic of the D7200 sound is a bit gone.
I think that the D7200 is extremely tuned to the original cable.

Those are great. They would be perfect but they lack a bit of resolution.

where did you get your headband covering? how do you like it?
It's a hand made from a local headphone shop, they have various design and coloring but I let them choose the color and design for me and some how it end up with being black only. Tbh, I'm kind of disappoint with the color, should have chose it my self. But anw it does what it's intended to do. Protecting the head band skin and ease a bit with the comfort
