Theres a Moon Audio Silver Dragon cable on sale in the classified section which will open up the 7200s mids and treble.

Well, I tried the Forza Audio Works Noir HPC but it's not my taste. This sounds very restless and also after the burn in, I am not convinced. In the meantime, I also ordered the Beyerdynamic Audiophile cable and this sounds really fantastic with the Chord Mojo. Compared to the Denon cable is this slightly better in the mids (no harsness). Voices (for example Gregory Porter) has a more natural sound.

Setup: Laptop with JRiver, Fidelizer, Chord Mojo, Beyerdynamic Audiophile cable, Denon AH-D7200 :)

You mean that one?

This is the one I use, and it sounds great indeed. Quite convenient to use as well.
What was the main problem you found with the Forza cable?

I was able to listen also to a fostex 900 mk2 wonderful headphone , it sounds very similar to the 7200.

But for me more comfortable and well built ... But it costs twice the price.

Sonically speaking for me they are at the same level.

i usually feed the denon with the v281.

I tested it with the headamp gsx mk2 it sounds fantastic... A new level.

Probably one of the best match available for the denon for metal heads like me.

Unfortunatly it costs a fortune :'( so i'll remain with the v281 , also headamp can't correctly feed my he6 ...

For cable testing ... I made listen another headphone addicted friend and said that the neotech awg26 upocc copper teflon insulated and oyaide connectors was a good upgrade from stock cable.

Since 2 hours I own a fresh 7200. ....exactly what I have searched for! Very nice to hear with - he manage all tricky parts parts without loosing details.
Connected to an audio-gd 28.38.... sweeping the floor with the most opponents I think - and I have thought my hd800s is not beatable - but the Denon plays so easy - perfect for anti-technicians ....very happy (at the end of the road?)

I have a similar experience just like you. My HD800 remain boxed due to 7200's addiction.

Listened to an hd800... simply i didn't like it ... As i'm listening much heavy metal ... the senny is not so great with that music ... the d7200 is another level for my music

I do not miss my HD-800 one bit....loving the Denon D7200 and my Senny HD-600
