One of my friends owns a 9 month old pair of ATH-ESW9s and last night they suddenly stopped being able to play music. According to their report, they were in the middle of playing one song and chose another song to play and the headphones just stopped working. No static or anything, just a lack of music. I've since gotten a hold of the headphones and try as I might, using various sources I have not been able to get any sound to come out of the cups. All the wires look fine to me and everything seems to be in working order, so I don't know any reason why a headphone would just fail like this while it was in working order. I haven't been able to find any posts on head-fi or anywhere else with a similar problem, so I thought I'd post here to see if anyone has any idea of what is going on. Is the only option at this point to send it back to AT for repair? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
