Dude you like to put the Vegas type challenges here for us to roll the dice!

Interestingly enough though, he also states that "One tube is about 10-12% stronger than the other. Whereas I judge the stronger tube I rate as strong in performance." Which begs the question, if he has some kind of 6th sense / optics / hearing...something to make this determination, without actually testing the tubes....lol.

Yeah I was wondering how he knew this without testing..

If he can discern by ear 5%-7% difference in volume between tubes, his EBay name should be ‘monsoonkillavumeter’ 😳

Yeah, that's a definite deal killer. If there is an audible volume difference at all, then at least one of the tubes is WAY below minimum emission/GM and likely within hours of its end. No wonder he's selling them so cheap. Friggin' charlatan.

Well like @UntilThen I'm coming virtually full circle as well. Except that I picked up the Darkvoice's younger brother from another mother! I kind of miss the blue led light from the dv though. lol.

Rolling with the eternal RCA JAN-CRC-6AS7G and the new Linlai E-6SN7.

What a different amplifier. Did not know.

You're still on the journey, right?!

I parked in my Mid-Fi paradise.

Yes - La Figaro 336 made by same designer after he left the company making the DV.

Audio journey - I'm taking my final lap, before mostly exiting the hobby. Think I want to try out one more amp, then call it quits.

I agree - i'm cool with the mid-fi madness. I don't have headphones that really call for scaling towards thousand dollar gear.

Be happy you kept most of your good tubes. The market for tubes these days are insane.

I think the only headphones I still want to try are a Grado and a DT1990Pro.

Other than that, I'm happy where I am.

Huh? Quitting audio altogether, or just quitting the purchase of new gear? If the former, we'll have to scramble and put together an emergency intervention team. If the latter, many have gone before you and failed miserably. Told to me by a friend. 🤣

** life without audio / without tubes will be the intervention … Slade01 will be back … (probably from 6922 amps to 300B amps 🤣)

Latter. LOL. Yeah I know, but really, I think i've heard mostly what I have wanted to hear in terms of gear. I'm kind of just settling down to a humble setup and saving my money on finer booze and towards more quality vacations and travel. :sunglasses:

Life would be boring without the used market. I am grateful for the opportunities it has provided. But yeah, I'm off the amp/dac merry go round. I'll still have my eye on one of those rarer Grados, or if I want to make myself mad, hunt for a vintage pair with pink drivers and give myself another Moby Dick like saga.

Don't worry @jonathan c there is always speakers and 2-ch world. Then we can talk about those 300B amps. lol. That's some day down the road. Music has been too much in my blood for me to ever leave it.

Even group therapy won't help with the latter :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
