Lol. I meant basic in terms of DV stock tube complement. Back in 2008 when I purchased the DV and started this thread, that was all we had. The 6SN7, 5692, 6080, 6AS7, 7236 and 5998. The Bendix 6080 was the power tube to be had back then.
Then adapters came into play and made the rabbit hole deeper in terms of versatility. Nowadays, I can use my 6SN7s with my Woo Audio 2 and the Vali 2+ and any amp I purchase in the future that has native 6922/6DJ8 configuration.

Yeah I know! I was just kidding around. Adapters - yes, they are super rabbit hole enablers. It's for this very reason I have not gotten them for my WA2, or else I'd be broke by now. If only I could fit dual 6j5 adapters on my WA2. I might have to get the 6SN7 ones now. Thanks a lot. Another reason for my wallet to hate me!

I hear ya Slade. Adapters are addictive, but they maximize your amp. You are not tied down to their set configuration and the WA2 and DV love them.
But, there are many drop in tubes to the 6922/6DJ8 drivers as well. I spank my WA2 every few months with a pair of Tung Sol 6BZ8s. No adapter needed. The WA2 loves them.
This week to continue my nostalgic trip with the DV, I have fitted her tonight with my first tubes I ever purchased after receiving her. A sexy Bendix 6080WB and a brown base GE 6SN7GTB. Sounding great.
To @HeatFan12, is your DarkVoice ‘stock’ (more or less) or does it have Fitz mod etc? I have been mulling a DV purchase out of curiosity……as though I need another h/p/a .

Thanks for the tip on the 6BZ8 as a drop in for the 6922! TBH, I haven't gotten around much to tube rolling with the WA2. I just found your posts form 8 years ago on the WA2 tube rolling thread - great resource. I'll definitely have to give these a go. Cheers!
