I am tired of waiting!
When will The End get the new CDs by:
-MOONSPELL
-FALKENBACK

You guys should grab up that NEGURA cd, it is great in the early Nokturnal Mortum style and has the most elaborate digipak I have ever seen..........including real leaf from forests of Transylvania (no joke!)

Nacher
How is that EOS Crimson II ?

There is great ARCTURUS cd at The End that combines 1st album and two EPs together:
- Aspera Hiems Symfonia + Constellation + My Angel
Also get the newest album
- Sham Mirrors

First two BORKNAGAR are:
- Borknagar s/t
- Olden Domain

Much of vocals on DCA by former Borknagar member Vortex along with original Dimmu founder Shagrath (aka shaggy), Borknagar st features vocals of Garm from ULVER

FYI
Just found out two tracks on DCA feature vocals from Abbath, the legendary founder of IMMORTAL along with Shaggy.

My list for my next order from The End is getting longer.

ABBATH vocals appear on tracks 2 + 11 of DCA album, this is our secret

You have done well fledgling................to complete the dark B/B trilogy you must obtain THEATRE of TRAGEDY "Aegis" you will then have the 3 greatest B/B albums ever made.

Darkangel : Crimson 2 is nice, even though I wasn't fully convinced after the first spin. Seems like this one is going to have quite a long lifespan in my cd player, heh. The only thing that bothers me about Crimson 2 is that it feels more like collection of 44 random parts than a one full epic composition.

I just got Pantheist - O Solitude and for my surprise, I like it quite a lot. The only doom metal album I have liked before this one, was Saturnus - Paradise Belongs to You. How about Shape of Despair? How does it compare to Pantheist?

ps. My Vinterland cd is FINALLY in the mail after 1-2 months of waiting. Should get it during the next week.

Ah yes..........VINTERLAND, they have only one album and it is godlike, made my top 10 list!

PANTHEIST is very good.............but SHAPE of DESPAIR (both albums) is even better, best funeral doom I have ever heard.
(although I am not huge fan of this genre like KR)

EoS Cimson II..............guess I like it more than you did, if only Opeth Damnation was 1/2 as good as this...............

I think I have asked this before, but here goes.

I have "Spiritual Healing" by Death, great CD. What other Death CDs are worth owning?

Actually ALL Death albums are great and worth having. They are not all the same but going over time from straight death/thrash metal towards a more and more progressive-death style.

If you were to put me with the back to the wall and ask me to chose which I like the most it would generally go from the last to the first - they are getting better and better over time IMO (until sadly Chuck Schuldiner died). Soooo:-

*1 - Sound of perseverance (Symbollic is also very good IMO but not "essential")
*2 - Individual thought Patterns & Human
*3 - Leprosy & Scream Blody Gore

Very very good also is Chuck Schuldiner's side project before he died - a band called *Control Denied* only one great album named The Fragile art of Existence (cleaner vocals-Chuck does NOT do the singing) close in style to Sound of perseverance, perhaps more melodic, one step closer to progg. than death... (it reminds me by association of Maynard with A Perfect Circle vs. Maynatd with Tool)

To summ it up - I would chose for the begining among one of the three albums from *1* & *2*

hmm, even though this thread is mostly about metal, can anyone suggest me some similar stuff to clan of xymox/dead can dance/cocteau twins? It's still relatively dark music isn't it?
