Yes the King Diamond/Mercyful Fate double CDs reissues are brand new remasters (vs older remaster) and each CD has bonus tracks.

I've really been enjoying Antidote by Moonspell, I know DA mentioned their firest two albums before, and I think I'll be picking those up, what about relases since then.

The best ones are :

Moonspell – Under The Moonspell
Moonspell – Wolfheart
Moonspell – Irreligious
Moonspell – Sin – Pecado

All of these albums are well worth getting. "The Butterfly Effect" and "Darkness And Hope" are pretty good but nowhere near as great as the ones above. I don't think they are worth getting, unless you just must own everything.

UPDATE :

The end has now got the new one for sale, two versions!

MOONSPELL - The Antidote VINYL

LP version of the 2003 album by Portugal’s masters of Gothic-death metal and what a stunning record it is! Moonspell return to their old death metal sound era irreligious delivering 10 tracks of gothic/death mastery.

Highly anticipated new album by Portugal’s masters of Gothic-death metal and what a stunning record it is! Moonspell return to their old death metal sound era irreligious delivering 10 tracks of gothic/death mastery.
This is the limited edition version, coming as gatefold Digipak and featuring 3 stickers as well as poster and multimedia feature. Housed in slipcase!

Do you have a link or something to support that they are newly remasterd?
All I've seen, even on Roadrunner's website, is that they are re-issues of the old remasters. The bonus tracks are the same as well...

Just wondering if they sound different/better than the older remasters or if they're really the same since I own the older remasters already and listen to them quite often.

I don't have my individual CDs anymore since I sold them as soon as double CDs arrived, but check your copy of:
MERCYFUL FATE - Mellissa
and see who has the remaster credits for 1997, the new double CDs are:
Chris Gehringer at Hits Factory NYC (but no date listed)

When I did a quick check before selling I thought old CD had different person listed for remaster, but could be mistaken since it was just a quick look.

Should I even mention that Opeth was nothing short of awesome live? The set lasted over 2 hours and had material from every released Opeth album. Unfortunately Black Rose Immortal wasn't included, heh. The audience (about 1000 people) went so nuts that I wonder how the people in first five rows actually managed to stay alive in the pressure.
biggrin.gif

Darkangel : This EoS - Crimson 2 is really growing on me. 9/10 now, and might get another 0.5 soon. The few first spins of Vinterland didn't impress me too much, but maybe it needs some time.

ps. Shape of Despair - Angels of Distress is great and SoD is going to release a new album in about two months. Whoa. Btw, is it really on purpose that Angels of Distress doesn't have booklet, lyrics or anything with it? Only a minimal digipack.

Sounds like nice venue to see Opeth, is this indoor or outdoor
and who else is playing there. Was the sound quality worthy?
You didn't wear an Opeth shirt to Opeth concert did
you
very_evil_smiley.gif

Of course EOS Crimson II is great..............I was begining to wonder about you Nacher, but it seems you have come to your senses finally, he he.

SOD - Angel of Distress
Like falling into an endless abyss, down down down........it is sublimely dark & depressing

Keep listening to VINTERLAND, hard to find and on my top 20 all time list.

Outdoor? It is late autumn in Finland, which means that temperatures can go below zero degrees celsius at night. Even though that would made "summer is miles and miles away" in In My Time of Need sound quite correct, I think indoor venue was a better choice
wink.gif
. Actually only the festivals and some large summertime concerts are held in outdoor venus in here. Metal gigs are more or less always in indoor enviroment. The venue was nice as it had a circural balcony in front of the stage in addition to the lower floor level.

Opeth has Extol from Norway as their warmup band during Scandinavian tour. As far as I know, Extol is some kind of a christian metal band. I heard they would have jazz influences, but it sounded only like technical progressive metal to me. Flawless playing skills, but the songs were quite boring. Nothing compared to Opeth of course
very_evil_smiley.gif
. The sound quality during the Opeth gig was quite good, though the guitar disortions sounded kinda cheap and kinda muffled the complex chord progressions. It wasn't bad though, and the more mellow parts sounded great. The guitar sound did vary though, as Åkerfeldt used like 5 or 6 different guitars during the set. Some solos were not audible enough as the rhythym guitar was a bit too loud and double bass drums were @ extreme volume, but most of the time balance was quite fine. The live version of Face of Melinda was a total killer with added jazz-like keyboards and extra guitar solos and the guitar intro before the last part of Deliverance had a nice rotating speaker effect. The sound of the intro riff circled around the venue and got a massive applause from the audience.

And no, I didn't wear an Opeth shirt
wink.gif
. Don't even own one, heh. One more week to Dimmu&Hypocrisy&Norther...

I did finally get Therion - Secret of the Runes btw. Neat stuff. Like this one a lot already.
