The difference is that 5290 CAD are 4000 USD. 4500 EUR for the Expanse are actually 4500 USD, but I think that the import taxes were compensated with the stronger Euro before. 4000 EUR were ~4500 USD in January. So I think the price must be ~10% more in Europe.

With Apple, Sony products its the same. IPhone 14 pro (1100 USD) in USA and 1300 Euro (1300 USD) in Germany. So we are used to pay more

Why not just save some cash and EQ a well liked, less expensive headphone?

Well nothing at all against EQ, but EQ can't fix lack of slam and mid-bass tactility, so IF a headphone is tuned appropriately right out of the box, that is a HUGE plus for me. Seems like a headphone that sells for multi-kilobucks should be tuned spot-on with good staging, GREAT BASS, superior mids, and properly done treble for sparkle, airiness, basically just awesome rendering. Is it asking too much?
As well as earpads that are not glued on (Audeze). Really hoping to read that the Expanse are all that sonically, extremely interested.
