I'll do. I was able to send it back to Zürich, because I bugged them a little and they believe me the headphone has some issues. They'll send it to DCA. I'll report back, as soon as I know more.

Hi,

I paired my Dan Clarks’ with FiiO k9 pro ess, which is a great fit.
No need to spend a crazy amount of money for a DAC/headphone amp but… my DragonFly Cobalt is not good enough.
These headphones are outstanding.
How they play, How they look, and How comfortable they are.

10/10

I am only waiting for a balanced Cable from audiophile ninja. Then setup will be finished.

Hi,

I also did this pairing with my Noire and the K9 Pro ESS and noticed good results with them.

Now my setup is finished :D

BTW, I can recommend audiophile ninja cables. They cost about 80 dollars. Immediately I needed to decrease the volume in my fiio k9 pro ess by 20-25%, which I am happy about because, in a low gain setup, I had to reach 70-75% of the scale, not it is slightly above 50%.
I have also bought

https://tomanek.net.pl/en/80.html
(200 dollars)
With a balanced headphone cable and audio power strip/power cable, the system sounds how it should.

I'm on my way to Zürich to pick up my headphones. It seems they replaced mine with a new one. That's really nice!

Congratulations Laurent!

does anyone have the noires and paried them with Shangling M3 Ultra or somehing similar?
Think that would be a great fit with my Aryas and I'm lacking on the portable aspect as well.

I think it should run them. There are some specs around the noire needs around 500mW juice to run, but I could run them with the Questyle M15 dongle just fine. But I have to say, if you give the noire more power, they'll "wake up" a litte more. It depends on what you want, mobility, or the best sound you can get out of them.

On paper the Aeon Noire are quite similar in terms of power requirements to the Arya.

I have used mine briefly with my Shanling UP5 which has similar power specs to the M3 Ultra. It does an OK job but you will likely be running it wound up pretty far on the volume.

I think it would be fair to say there are better options for portable use with the Aeon Noire even if I think their power requirements are overstated.

I can run the Aryas withe the DAP with no problems. Obv. the sound its very much inferior to my desktop setup.
I was thinking of the Noires to run it with my desktop and also portable sometimes during the weekends or when I'm required to go to the office.
While the IEM that I've got does it quite well (Dusk), I feel like its lacking very much in overall details, resolution etc... Sound is holographic, but I would thinkt that the Noires would have a larger stage than the Dusk.
And now I'm torn between the Noires and another IEM -> SA6 MK2

I'm looking for a closed back and am currently considering the Noires as well as all the ZMF closed backs. Right now I just have HD 650s running on a Schiit Magni Piety and Modi Multibit 2. I love the natural timbre of the 650s, so I really want a closed back that can match or improve upon that.

For anyone who's had both the Noires and any ZMF closed backs or the HD 650s, how do you feel the timbre compares? It seems that people feel the Noires do this really well, but I'm wondering if this is mostly compared to other planars or if it's competitive with ZMFs.

Also, does anyone use their Noires with the Piety? I'm wondering how the synergy is with these.

I have both- HD 650 and Aeon 2 Noire.
If you like the HD 650 you“ll like the Noire too.

They share a natural tonality, Noire opens up a bit on both ends of the spectrum.
Noire is one of the few ’phones that doesn’t ask for EQ.

The amp synergy is over-estimated in my experience - the selection of the ‘phones model is where the rubber hits the road.
You couldn’t fix significant flaws with amp pairing - fortunately Noire doesn’t have those.

Noire’s power requirement specs are for people listening unhealthy loud - I can’t even max out the little white iPhone Dongle powerwise.
Soundwise there are better alternatives, the Apple Dongle has some problems with artifacts in the treble, likely cause by internal resampling.
