Great thread regarding these two headphones! I had the dt770/80 pro and thought they sounded good, but then I decided on going up to another level by purchasing the d2000. They definitely sound much better than the dt770/80 - more neutral sounding and better clarity in all the components of sound. I understand now when people say the dt770/80 has bloated bass that takes over everything. I've now ordered the hd650 and look forward to do a comparison.
