i have  a denon d2000 backordered from J&R for a few weeks now. I see that even amazon is oos. Is there a d2000 shortage/discontinuation occuring?

That guy is selling used for $250 CDN. I have an order from J&R for a brand new pair for $200 shipped.

I don't think that means its coming soon. Its been out of stock on J&R for at least a month with a similar message. It has to be a supply problem of some sort.

yeah, I called them and asked them to match a deal I saw other people had got.

Agreed. Ive been looking and they are out of stock at every single website ive checked. Its making me consider the D5000s which i probably shouldnt do.

I ordered from J&R around boxing day, they gave me price of $220 and I was fine with it, but after waiting two weeks I decided to cancel and bought open box from Electronic expo for $199.
People who ordered along with me are still waiting for theirs, who knows when J&R and others will get more stock.
Even better news would be new model

I'm going to contact denon about this. I just got another backorder message from J&R, not sure of the significance of that. I figured that someone on this forum would have some denon connects.

When I bought mine 2 years ago, they were going for 180 a pop on Amazon.com (not 3rd party, actual Amazon).

They carry a street price in the area of 200-250
 
anything higher than that, then I would consider going up to the D5000s.
