Would the EI.3 or FIBAE 1 be better for listening to mostly metal (all sub-genres) with some prog and classic rock? I could possibly swing for the FIBAE 2 if they would sound that much better.

For those genres, the FIBAE 2 would certainly fare best. It has an impactful, dynamic sound with a slightly darker tone that's ideal for these scenarios.

Yep, when I asked Piotrus about the ei3 when I already had the fibae2 he mentioned that there was little point as the fibaes were better at rock and metal (I listen to progressive, metal and synth so same sort of area) than the ei3 was. Not actually listened to mine a lot as it's spent more time back and forth on refits than it has in my ears! Still awaiting the return (I've given up on customs for now and going universal again) and looking forward to it.

Between F1 and Ei.3 for metal,prog,rock - definitely pick Ei.3
Between Ei.3 and F2 - definitely pick F2.
As for Ei.3 we are nearing the end of its sales so, there are probably only few more days to get them (now at discounted price). As a suggestion - if you need more time - I would encourage you to place an order now and fulfill or cancel later on. Otherwise once the Ei.3 is taken out from our page there will be no option to order it.
The F2 is the only one of those listed that I have. I listen to a variety of genres, Iron Maiden is about as Metal as I get(love them), but I listen to quite a bit of Prog and Classic Rock. I have listened to all of the above with the F2 and it is a very enjoyable sound. As Daniel said, it is a very dynamic IEM.Would the EI.3 or FIBAE 1 be better for listening to mostly metal (all sub-genres) with some prog and classic rock? I love the fact that some headphone jacks are getting bigger than some mp3 players these days

A new "mystery" Custom Art prototype just hit my hands, more importantly hit my ears...photos for now.
Now i want to known more.
And the black finish are beautiful.
Maybe the famous Fibae4 expected in December ?
I think it’s something different from FIBAE 4. Piotr doesn’t rush his tuning, so I’m not sure if he’d ask for feedback from reviewers just 1 month before the December release
I pray for Harmony!

From Flinkenicks megathread posted by Piotrus :-
"we selected 10 reviewers to participate in providing us with opinion on a pre-production model we've developed recently. Whether it's FIBAE4 or something else - that I cannot tell you. Reviewers don't know driver count nor price range".
