Mine's 2996, and I got them around January-February, iirc.

#4918. I guess I've had these 4 or 5 months now. From Todd, of course. This particular pair must be very special because it does not suffer from any of the "nasties" I've read about the K701s here in the forum. I guess I just got very lucky.

#9526: Bought mine on the 13th of September, came on October 5th if that can be used for any judgment. I know of at least one headfi member who purchased his after mine, so there's a good chance his is even later...

Actually, most pairs didn't have any problems. They just tend to get overblown when high-end products have problems.

So they've probably made 10,000 K701s!! If they sell for around $350 each, then that's $3,500,000! Not bad at all

I bought mine from NS&L for $244.42, meaning AKG has to let them go for less than that... I don't think they've quite made $350,000 yet, not to mention that that wouldn't be AKG's return profit. It does cost something to manufacture a product you know?

#3236. I had a problem with the cord on mine but AKG repaired it under warranty with no cost to me

I don't have any idea what their profit is on these things, but if it were $100 each (probably more realistic) then they'd have about $1M so far based on our assumptions. Not too bad for one product.

Thanks for the participation.

I'm amazed that AKG is near (if not surpassed) the 10,000 mark. Anybody have a 10,000+ #'d can?

Mine is #2896 and I got it in April from HeadRoom. How is it possible yours is numbered higher?

I want to know Filburt's number, we had contrasting opinions on the SQ and thought it was because we had differently-manufactured models.
