The one I have has less bass, honestly not sure which level of bass is representative or if it's just due to unit variance.

Well that just leaves the question of how to get one...seems like there are a lot of so called "genuine" pairs on ebay, but I'm not so sure how I should be authenticating what I'm seeing.

Edit: Canceled my orders, am just going to buy one of the devices it was paired with instead, save myself the trouble.

Considering that none of them show them in Sony packaging makes me think they are all fakes.

Maybe I'm being gaslit be the sheer amount of fakes showing up in the image results, but I can't seem to find any pairs that have Sony branded packaging--even when I search through yahoo.jp. Perhaps they did just come in a generic plastic bag? It seems like they were just included as somewhat of an afterthought to the main device (SBH50 / SBH20 / SBH52 / Xperia Z1 Z2 Z3 XL39H Z4 Z5 XP XZ).

Unfortunately, the best way to get an original MH755 is from Sony mobile users. Another great budget IEM with extremely low-distortion and close to Harman target is the LG QB3: https://clarityfidelity.blogspot.com/2015/10/lg-quadbeat-3-tuned-by-akg-iem.html?q=Lg (MH755's FR using the same rig for reference). Too bad both models are such hard to find a genuine version nowadays.
Your comment just made me realize I had those, came with my old sony ericson phone. They were something else, great quality. Everything sounded awesome, even out of cheap ipod clip players.
I need to get my hands on these for the gym. Will be following this thread
This was a long long time ago.

The one that I'm currently using is a loaner with a 2pin removable cable mod (no sound mods) so it's not really representative of how the actual unit should look like. I did however buy a Sony SBH56 Bluetooth receiver so I'm at least guaranteed a genuine unit later on (the SBH24 also has a MH755 but Black Friday made the 56 cheaper so I went for that instead).

Could we please get some pointers on how to do this 2 pin cable mod? I saw the cable length (35 cm) on the MH755 and is quite horrified already before even receiving the shipment.. thank you in advance!

Need a recommendation for a good solid IEM that's relatively balanced with a great bass section. Looking at the Massdrop Plus, FLC8N/D, DUNU Falcon-C and Sony MDR-EX800ST. What do you guys think?
