I hear you there, all of my favourite headphones are out of production. The only in production headphone I own is the K81DJ, and I'd replace that with one of those shiney K140s/K141s or a pair of K4s or K145s if I could find any of them in decent shape.

I really must try persuade my friend to give me his broken K-70's to see if I can try fix them... Maybe I'll like the AKG sound so much that I'll sell everything I own and buy some K1000's

Mostly yes. It's a mix of organ donors and just extra ones I need to get rid of. I think there are a few other oddball ones buried in there too, that didn't fit in the normal lineup.

I heard a rumor that a couple of my Stax phones are at the bottom of the pile in the plastic bin on the left, but I haven't checked to see if that's true.

After some flip-flopping on the matter, I came to prefer the K240M over the K240S. As for the K240DF, I like it so much more than the K240S that it's not even funny. It's one of my favourite AKGs.

The older ones sound much better too! But you have to listen to real AKGs to truly see the light, most of the supraaurals and all of the cheap made in China ones do not count.
