The funny thing on this planet is that if everyone else starts doing something bad it suddenly becomes good.Larger pieces of meteorite are used for watch faces and other commercial purposes. A few swords have been made from the stuff too.
I think using a small bit for each IEM isn't a big deal.
These guys make beautiful IEMs. Please try to use Mokume-Gane for faceplates!
But you're entitled your own opinions of course and that's exactly what creates this situation. Like, if nobody wanted this then it wasn't offered. Have a look at how researchers are studying this meteorite and you might start thinking that it's not that good of an idea anyway. If you know how meteorites are formed and what each impact on our planet's surface makes them unique then it may not be such a great idea after all. It takes a while to wait for an exact same situation

I think you are blowing this out of proportion. Assuming that the owner of the meteorite (I assume some government agency) decided that it is okay to sell some of it, why would you say it's bad? Smarter people than both of us already made that decision. The funny thing on this planet is that if everyone else starts doing something bad it suddenly becomes good.

I wouldn't buy it, but I like it. As somebody already mentioned, it's exotic. Cool.

The member should try googling “meteor for sale.” There is no shortage of meteor available. There are in fact many different types of meteor available, some more rare than others.
As to research, the vast majority of meteor material that reaches the surface of the earth is made of simple iron and originates in the asteroid belt. The scientific value of every meteor is not equal. Some are basically just rocks that got heated up on entry through the atmosphere and carry no special value.

Interesting brand which I’ve not read very much about, especially considering also in Europe - I must educate myself!
They make great-sounding IEMs, we have reviewed them already: https://www.ear-fidelity.com/?s=craft+ears&ct_post_type=post:awpa_user_form_buildInteresting brand which I’ve not read very much about, especially considering also in Europe - I must educate myself!
They have an amazing price-to-performance ratio and Aurum is one of the cheapest flagship-worthy products on the market.

Guys, we hear your concerns about the use of the meteorite. Rest assured it is sourced fully legally and it is treated with the respect it deserves.
This limited edition is aimed at people who value sound and unique, exotic materials. Not only an excellent IEM, but something with history and a great stand-out piece for a collection.
Oh, and we were also curious if we can actually build it

We saw your questions about the technical side of our newest Aurum, so we're here to answer them!
As our first tribrid IEM release, Aurum combines three types of drivers to create a perfectly shaped sound with exceptional timbre:
10mm PEN Dynamic Driver: Acting as a true subwoofer, it delivers clear, fast, and full yet not overwhelming sub-bass. The lightweight yet stiff PEN diaphragm with a strong N35 magnet elevates low-frequency richness to an unmatched level in the in-ear monitor world, offering accurate dynamics and exquisite sound quality.
Four Balanced Armatures: With a carefully chosen five-way electrical crossover, these drivers are responsible for mids and highs, providing defined, remarkably natural voicing and timbre with minimal sharpness.
Dual Electrostatic Drivers: Paired with our custom-tuned SES™ 2.0 (Space Expanse System) and True Load™ technology, these drivers offer unparalleled loudness, expansion, speed, and softness for an exceptionally clean and refined sound.
Remember that you can still grab a pair of those for just 1899€, we're waiting for you

Their price is driven by the cost of the meteorite and the cost of processing it. No worries, we have a regular Aurum for 1295€ and other models available: https://www.craftears.com/#monitorsIt’s too expensive
If you wonder which model is right for you, shoot us a message, We are happy to advise

What do you think of showing you all the artists we collaborate with?
We thought it may be a great idea to show appreciation to all of the members of our #CraftFamily!
We're sure that our Polish followers know SARSA very well! She's a pop artist, songwriter and composer who caused a great storm on Polish music scene! We highly encourage you to give her a listen!
PS - Sarsa wears our classic - Craft FOUR
