On the phone now, not so easy to see the pic clearly...playing dsd and highres would reduce the time a bit

You don't really get how high end audio works do you?
 
Good old long  battery life days are finished, now each device with high end specs offer only around 10 hours of battery life. Probably because providing that good sound and having those components suck the battery juice quickly.

Well, I do but there's something I'm not sure about. I guess battery life will vary if you listen to FLAC or 320K mp3s, right?
 
I want an audiophile player but not something that won't last me an overseas flight. I'm stuck with my J3 then? :/

Your best bet would be the Sony ZX1 then

Well if you don't mind another piece to carry around, you could always get an external battery pack.

Yes.... IF it has a MicroSD slot for memory expansion !!  128 Gb ONLY is not enough for me !

However, if on paper it's at that level........... WAIT wasn't the ZX1 technically said to sound on par with that thing. I don't know if I should be eager or make an about face to Cowon. I've always respected them from afar but hmmmmm.......................
