I have a question of my own concerning what new mp3 player i should get.
 
Should i get the cowon I audio 10 or the Sony walkman A series?

The Sony DAPs without a doubt are better than the Cowon DAPs as it has better SQ. However, the older Sony DAPs (pre 2009) are better sounding than the newer EU Sony DAPs because of they escaped terrible EU volume capping. I think the Sony X1000 series were the last of the Sony DAPs to escape this awful volume capping that the EU nanny state dictates to us.

If you are in Europe I highly recommend the old Sony A series like the A729. The SQ is alot more fuller than on the newer EU Sony A series.

If its America then you have escaped the EU volume cap so I can safely say the new Sony A series.

But now im in a pinch again :/. Should i get the sony a 865 or the E465? It's a little hard for me ti decide at the moment

I'm in the same boat as the OP. The lack of SD card on the Sony is a drawback.

Cowon uses BBE but even though BBE and all the stereo effects are used on the Cowon DAPS the SQ it is still no match for the sublime SQ of the Sony.

If you are not in the EU get the A865 though the EU A865 has improved the volume better than the previous models but still not as loud as my A729 even though I don't usually play music loud anyway its nice to know it can go loud. I would of recommended the older A729 or X1060 but it depends if you can find one secondhand and if you want FM radio too which the A729 doesn't have. The E465 is the only Sony DAP I have never owned so I cannot comment on that but I suspect it has the same SQ.

They are both good. Its really another personal preference thing.
 
So buy whatever cheaper. That always give me the right choice

I think the 465 would have better battery life....but I don't know if the sound would compare to the 865.

I would go for the Cowon, only one reason, it supports FLAC.
