Hello, my combo is amp/dac (creative g5) connected usb on pc and optical input to optical output on my ps4 pro
my pc has the creative ae-5 (internal soundcard) and i want to have the pair of headphones (beyerdynamic dt770 pro) on the ae-5
so i use the line in 3.5mm jack from G5 headphones out through the ae-5 line in (listen to this device on the digital audio interface), so i have sound coming from my PC and PS4 at the same time, question is i asked creative about this and they told me its not advised/recommended since its not tested, i asked if the line-in is amp'ed and they said no amp but can this combo damage the soundcards or my headphones?

Why do you listen to both the PC and PS4 at the same time?

cause i don't want to switch the headphone jack to the AE-5 or G5 whenever I wanna have audio.
Have you considered using an audio switch box.
Run each of the headphone outputs, on the AE-5 & G5, to the line-inputs, on the audio switch box, and connect the headphones, to the line-out, on the audio switch box.
So just use the switch, on the audio switch box, to change between PC & PS4.
