Is the headband leather padded? I like my headband on my semi-old RS1's very much, but the new headbands are so thin you could feel the metal

I dont really get why these are called PS-1000, , it was known that the PS-1s we're targeted at German Audio Professionals, hense the name, these new phones have the "Proffessional Series" label but i think they're really "Statement Series" phones

I agree. More like a GS-2000, it would seem to me. No matter...

The first mod I did on the SR325i (extra mass on the outer rim of the cup) seems to be incorporated in the complete Grado Line now.

i sure hope they do sound better than your modded 325s!!!!!

i modded my 325s within an inch of their lives and i liked the effects, but c'mon, thats like saying the hd-800 better be better than my defoamed hd-555's

Yes tbh I also hope they sound alot better then your 325i's, I mean if I'm gonna drop 1700 on them, they better be something really exceptional. Finally no more HP1000 PS1 etc. crap, finally a current model that is the best... thats what I hope.

this is true, i hear my own, which am sure were the same approximate mods you are using, but theres only so much 'ceiling room' you have modding an existing driver, as i found out with my 325.

i am happy for you if you have created the best grado out there, your wallet will thank you i am sure

how do you rate them to your GS1K out of interest?

The PS1000 are as far as I can see modded GS1000.
Probably very good. I must say I am more interested in these than in the HD800.
I can't afford to be interested in both....

Haha me neither, but I do know that sennheiser isn't my 'sound', thus far. The Grado's on the other hand, they are exactly what I like. I hope I can cancel my GS1000 and add some more to get the PS1000 instead, that would be grand! However I do 'think' that the PS1000 have different drivers than the GS1000, offcourse based on nothing, but most things here are

. PS1000 + Pro900 + RS1 + Phonitor should be good enough for my dynamic, I might consider selling the ALO780J if the PS1000 is really that exceptional. SRM323A + LNS for electrostatic, this hobby rocks

.

Cheers
