No, the RS / GS pictures have changed. GS top looks smoother / lacquered, and the RS pictures are unbuttoned.

This is going to sound lame, but I'm not sure what the difference between button and buttonless Grado's are.

So it looks like with the RS1/RS2, the only visual change (at first glance) are the round rods.

And with the GS1000, it could be just me, but the vent in the back is smaller, thank to the added wood?

It really is. They disappear completely. John's designs are more euphonic which brings a different kind of enjoyment.

I tried to take a photo of the my Grado GS1K that came in the mail yesterday, comparing it to the new pic Grado uploaded to their website:

I'm not really seeing much of a difference? Other than the color of the wood, which could be due to my lighting / camera flash...

Can someone point out the differences for me?

There should be 4 conductors on each cup. Look into the cup and see how many conductors are coming out of the cable.
Maybe post a pic if you can.

I tried to get a pic of the inside, there's definitely 4 wires per cup.

Right - 2 white / 2 blue
Left - 2 red / 2 blue

Edit: better lighting revealed the black wires were actually blue.
