I've always enjoyed my sound. But I have never really looked into it. I currently own a pair of Shure SE210's, and am looking into some new, higher quality ones. Before I make a decision, I want to do my research, and find what I'm getting myself into.

What are in IEM's?
What is best in IEM's? Dynamic, or balanced armature?

And lastly, what is a great IEM? Reading reviews on amazon gets a bit grating. There is too much personal opinion in the overall construct of each. I understand each person has a different type of sound they like, but I'm just looking for the simple facts.

If you want to learn about the basic knowledge of IEM, read the guide in my sig.

As for which is best - There is no simple fact. what is 'best'? How do you define 'best' when everyone has his/her own classification and opinion? If there is an undisputed best, then we won't need to be in Head-fi. Like phosphorique said, a great IEM is one that makes you enjoy your music. It is the process of finding such IEM to fit the personal preference that's often the most difficult.
