KA1 cable is fixed and lightning version is out of stock. KA3 cable is interchangeable but there is no lightning to usb-c in the box. Fiio you're making it really hard for iPhone users.

Actually I have the fiio lt-lt1usb - c to lightning in preorder.

The other one (Meenova ) that I received from amazon US I am really disappointed sound quality wise. The apple usb 3 adapter with the included usb-c to usb-c plus usb-c to usb-A adapter gives much better sound quality.

Is also too long for me and also on the lightning end gets too hot very quickly. I would return immediately if I was not based in UK.

I hope fiio cable would be better otherwise apple adapter it is or through my Samsung phones.

I am afraid with Apple policy is very tricky to do good adapters even some charging lightning cables I have are crap.

You could buy an extra LT-LT1 if you are using the KA3.
If everything goes well, the LT-LT1 lightning version will be available next month.

Great review mate. Thanks God I did not buy the dc05 then.

However I am going to stick with the KA3 because I believe is a better deal (although i find the highs a bit aggressive for my taste) and has a detachable cable which a big deal to me. Already the cable is quite stressed not sure if it can hold as much as the life of the DAC.

How is the battery consumption in relation to KA3?

Also identical consumption between balanced and unbalanced modes? What I am missing here ?

You could check the test condition in the ( ).
In standby mode, there will still be power consumption. If you would like to avoid that, please disconnect the KA3 from your mobile phone. And the power consumption of Ka1 is much lower than the KA3.

I previously owned E1DA 9038D and Tempotec HDV.Both DACs have ESS chips and both suffered from pop noise when device was powered on or off.Now I am quite hesitant to buy a another dac with ESS chip.Could you please tell me if KA1 has any pop noise when it's powered on or off.

Hello, what do you mean when powered ON/OFF.
If you plug the KA1 with your earphones previously attached to it then there is a barely audible static sound at the moment you plug it.
Then when playing music or skipping tracks is dead silent.
So I can't hear any pop noise.
