well well well, having tried my C&C BH what can i say??? hm... who recommended this to me? ah, H20Fidelity smart guy...... ok, so my BIG BIG THANKS go to H20Fidelity. INCREDIBLE AMP.

you ask me what about my digizoid? hm, most likely this will be collecting dust for the most, good as subwoofer but not any close to C&C.

i do not think i can describe in terms and words but... to let you know i was glued to my coach for two hours as i could not stop listening and that was late night time  we came back from one trip.

guys, trust our well respected H20, his recommendation earns a 100+ rating from me. C&C is magic which will make your IEMs and C3 deliver all their magic too.

now shrugging off first emotions i can say that while C3 on its own is a great sounding player C&C transforms this into very expensive high-end rig. the soundstage becomes huge and enveloping, trebles become silky buttery smooth, mid tones pop life like and a singer enters your brain, bottom end or bass becomes spacious, detailed and finely articulated, you literally catch a sense of air moving around the drums. symphonic music evolves into a complex and finely layered performance, no congestion or muff signature anymore.

i must admit i am very glad i listened to good advices from H20, really BIG thanks pal.

as for setup i recommend this first rate, this is C3 + Palic silver-coper cable + C&C BH + Musical Fidelity EB50.... for me this combo becomes a final stop as i cannot imagine anything better without paying twice or triple more monies for the portable setup.

guys sorry saying this but i am happy as a pig

You're very welcome Gintaras, main thing I enjoy rather than listening to music myself is helping others experience improved sound quality, If I can do that, makes me feel all the better. The $100 investment is something you were willing to take risk on (I already knew how it would sound) but to take my word and try has surely paid off for you.

Enjoy your upgraded C3 rig.

H20, many thanks and you know this was a pleasure to follow your advice

you won't believe but i think for me the upgrade path came to an end. my present combo sounds so good is hard to beat. i can only think about adding a second portable rig if X3 will be so good.

btw, H20, what made you change from your hybrid IEMs to R0, i saw so much praise for your hybrids and then you go R0?

Has anyone experienced the 'PLAY ERROR' on the C3?  I can't seem to work out why its happening.  It doesn't seem to matter which file type I'm playing (flac, mp3, Wav) I just randomly get this error, it pauses for a few seconds.............and then plays the song, weird.

Watch out for those cars and buses, yes I have amazing sound but when I'm squinting trying to change tracks or lock the ****** thing I worry for my safety.

Well, I kept H-100 Hybrid for many months as my only IEM, after buying them I was so overwhelmed I sold my entire IEM collection including EX600, GR07 MK2, Triple-fi 10 to name a few. I was happy enough to use the T-Peos H-100 and focus on sources to improve them, but as any addiction after those few months I become immune to their sound slowly creeping back to IEM purchases.

The RE0 are just for playing around, the main IEM's I use are H-100, Rockit R-50 and Westone 3. Big mention to the Rockit R-50, they're one of the most detailed, spacious IEM's I have heard scoring 9.2/10 from ijokerl, and only $119. (excellent soundstage and imaging) Wonderful sound. H-100 is still one of the best IEM's I have ever heard though.

I also have on loan here a high end Hybrid from Rhapsodio, the RDB+ So most of my listening time is with them right now.

You can read about it here.

nick, i discover this rarely by some albums.... do not know reason, anyway not something i would be concerned, mostly appears different rips behave differently. IMHO this often has to do with cue lists.

H20, you have pretty good collection of IEMs. however i am not willing to stock so many, rather one or two. i have EB50 single armature which many serious high-enders praise very much, some go as far as to suggest EB50 is better than many triple BA IEMs... for what is worth, not my experience. however i listen to EB50 right now and they deliver amazing synergy together with C3 and BH. i can admit perhaps a bit more bass would not spoil the music but you know i doubt you can do much bass into IEM without going for a sound quality compromise. IEMs are not like full size earphones, so i am very happy with EB50 otherwise but might think about open Grado or HifiMan.

i am curious about Weston since they receive high praise from everyone. i see you have triple armature.

will google for Rhapsodio. if talking about Weston 3 vs. Rhapsodio how you would describe differences between them?

and again if you get a chance to listen to EB50 i would be curious to hear your impressions :-)

Westone 3 are rather thick / warm in the mid range with emphasis on the low end, slight mid-bass bloat, BIG headstage, all instruments sound large, full and energetic. Good height and width around the soundstage. While Rhapsodio RDB are rather neutral, transparent with exceptional clarity and detail. I've only had RBD+ one night so I cannot really say much, but there will be a review up over the next two weeks on my final thoughts. RBD+ are much more expensive and do a very good job bringing out "emotion" in what ever you play through them which is something I've never felt before. Mabe I'll start crying tears of happiness? :p I'll keep an eye out for the EB50!

I would love to say more for you, but I fear we're drifting off topic, and must stick with C3.

yes, concerning my setup i found good improvement from replacing stock connector cable with a thicker Palic silver copper cable with gold terminations. this cable really added in terms of sound clean and separation and made C3 sound nearly holographic. no matter BH cable is fair quality cable i would not use it. doing little investment into a better interconnect cable won't hurt you but will add greatly to sound quality.

as concerns critical listening material on C3 and BH i used all were FLAC albums as follows:

Chris Spheeris - Dancing with the Muse
Soul Ballet - All The Pretty Lights
Govi - Your Lingering Touch
Barbara Streisand - Guilty Pleasures
Geogre Michael - Songs From Past Century
Clannad - In Concert
Moody Blues - The Days of Future Passed
YES - Magnification
Pink Floyd - The Wall
Eagles - Hotel California
Peter Gabriel - So
100% Blues Collection
Yello - Stella
Sting - Symphonicities in Berlin Concert
Bee Gees - One Night Only
Soundtrack Eyes Wide Shut - Music from Stanley Kubrick Movie
Madonna - Ray of Light

So i tried to cover various genres to see how BH and C3 would perform. The outcome was amazingly good, that combo is a real gem for prudent HiFi-er :-)

The best cable I have come across so far when pairing C3 regarding value for money is this SMSL silver plated. I think it was around $19 on eBay.

I do recommend if you take the C&C BH / C3 route don't slack out on the interconnect, because it's an important piece of the puzzle. You don't need to spend a fortune and it makes all the difference. I may try and get my hands on a pure silver interconnect soon to experiement with.

And with that said I'm out for the night. Time for some music.

agree with H20, proper cabling is important and often stock cable is not that very good compared to best breed.
in my case this little thing did magic: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pailiccs-Baolong-Hifi-cable-3-5mm-MALE-to-MALE-Stereo-Audio-Cable-for-MP3-PC-/261129231755?pt=US_Personal_CD_Players&hash=item3ccc83dd8b

same merchant sells C&C BH so you can place the order for two items and receive them in one package.

i compared Palic cable i ordered to stock cables from BH and ZO and can assure you that difference in sound is pretty audible. describing in one word this small cable improves greatly musical fluidity. it costs however 40$ so price sensitive people might be willing to take H20 advice. in any case both cables tested with good results, one from me and one from H20.

I also found there are another two which are more expensive sliver plated cables on ebay:

1) 3.5mm MALE to MALE Stereo Audio Cable for MP3/PC Baolong 3.5 stereo silver cable ($38.53)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-5mm-MALE-to-MALE-Stereo-Audio-Cable-for-MP3-PC-Baolong-3-5-stereo-silver-cable-/180724480050?pt=UK_MP3_Player_Accessories_Cables_Adapters&hash=item2a1404b832

2) silver cable 3.5mm MALE to MALE Stereo Audio Cable Moon goddes & Plug CANARE F1 ($57.80)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/silver-cable-3-5mm-MALE-to-MALE-Stereo-Audio-Cable-Moon-goddes-Plug-CANARE-F1-/170698597062?pt=UK_Computing_Sound_Vision_Audio_Cables_Adapters&hash=item27be6de2c6

In your opinion, which is the best silver plated cable in term of sound quality for C&C BH / C3?
