Another one here. Thanks to those reviews and a few head-fier's opinion I am a happy owner of the DT660.
In the price range, nothing comes close.

T5p is very good for classical, though I'm not the biggest fan of this headphone in general, have to say. 
 
I've given it a lot of time and chances (3rd pair) and it just doesn't hit the heights I wanted it to.

Living in a country where the importing taxes are outrageous, this is exactly what I did.

I'd say Shure 940s too. Or in ear IEMs. I personally use and like the Shure se425 for classical.

Yeah. This is where I currently am...and at this point, after scouring the web, I'm not sure there is anything better over ears than the ER4S in ear...at least not under a grand.

I'm going to take flack for this but honestly, though its harder to drive with my ipod classic, I can get decent sound straight from my ipod. When I try it with my desktop Magni, its fairly similar. I do plan on getting a portable amp at some time. Probably a JDS Labs C5.

I recommend the NAD HD50's, which didn't exist when this thread began.

So you mean Magni does not improve the SQ of ER4S much? Oh yes, I remember I read somewhere that Magni is not designed for IEM's.

It's not designed for low impedance iems but at 100 ohms the ER4S is harder to drive than many over ears. Yeah, I didn't see much improvement.
