I'm looking for the closed cans equivalent of K501 w/ K701 pads. Let me hear your suggestions and impressions please. So far, after googling around I came out with the list:

1. Denon D2000
2. Beyer DT150
3. Kenwood K1000

others:
Denon D5000
JVC DX1000

TIA!

Just in my research the the Denon lacks the mids you are after. Basically what makes the k501 the k501 is the awesome mids and airiness, both of which are near, if not impossible inside a closed chamber.

Take a look at the German Maestro line.  There are several of them with the sound signature you are after.
The GMP 450 is definitely airy and midrange focused, and I know several of the others are as well.

It may not be the closed cans equivalent of the K501 but I'll be going for the Fostex T50RP - hoping I'll find a more glorious mids on them :)
Thanks all for the reply.
