Thanks, but I'm not fond of this one, misses some tension which makes this music so bloody great
Hmmm...seems plenty tense to me! Each to his own, I guess.

Nice sound quality, love her playing, with DSD64 i feel as if she was playing a private VIP concert just for me when i close my eyes and imagine i am at the theater

You know when I first got their complete box set, I thought they sounded overly 'thick'. But over the past few years of going back to them, I have come to really like the sound. The recording is excellent sound quality wise. Still unsure about their Beethoven SQs though.

On the Mozart quartets, I recently came across this gorgeous recording by the Prague String Quartet on my streaming service.

I'd only heard their Dvorak cycle. Currently going through their Martinu record.

Talich's early Mozart Qts are excellent.

My references for the LvB quartets are still the Italiano, Berg, Prazak, and Takacs. So many good ones....
