Prokofiev was such a genius..
My copy of the Takacs set arrived yesterday. Although not SACD, it does include a 24/48 Blu-Ray with the entire cycle.
still my favorite..
Paul Galbraith's new recording of transcriptions of Mozart and Bach wonderfully played on his 8-string guitar. Superb sound.
I'm gonna listen to Quatuor Ebene playing Beethoven string quartets in about 3hrs, live that is.
Which pieces are on the album?
J.S. BACH (1685-1750)
01 – Allemande, from Lute Suite in Em, BWV996 3:07
W.A. MOZART (1756-1791)
02 – Allemande in Cm (trans. Em) from Baroque Suite in C, K399 3:02
W.A. MOZART – KEYBOARD SONATA in Bb (trans. E), K570
03 – Allegro 9:34
04 – Adagio 11:09
05 – Allegretto 3:38
J.S. BACH – LUTE SUITE in Gm (trans. Am), BWV995
06 – Prelude 6:38
07 – Allemande 2:33
08 – Courante 2:06
09 – Sarabande 2:59
10 – Gavottes I&II 3:11
11 – Gigue 1:32
J.S. BACH – CELLO SUITE in G (trans. D), BWV1007
12 – Prelude 2:29
13 – Allemande 1:58
14 – Courante 1:57
15 – Sarabande 2:44
16 – Menuets I&II 2:52
17 – Gigue 2:01
Good diversity. Few things can match the soothing sounds of a slow guitar after a tiring work week.....
Really? I have it too. You should also try the Italiano, Prazak, Berg, and Tokyo (1990s).
Some of those pieces are pretty fast!
great recording of Mahler's 8th..
