Sennheiser HD600
Bose QC-25
I'll forgo the endless photos and wont bore you with describing how the Mojo sounds as-per each headphone, as you only want to know if you should spend $600 USD on it.
First, when you start paying above $350 for a dac or a headphone, you are buying inches. You are purchasing a 5-10% investment in higher fidelity. You are buying designer sound.
In other words, if you buy Audeze you get thick rich bass and if you buy Beyer you get extended trebles.
So, as the money goes up the sound gets different, but that does not always equal to "better"., as better is subjective regarding sound..... and the 5-10% that IS better, at a cost, is going to be depth, soundstage, resolution, and articulation...and for ME, that is usually worth the cost.
Now, the Chord Mojo sounds very good.
Its a fine sounding reproduction gear.
Its balanced, its articulate, its honest regarding the source, and its plug and play except if you have a "new" Mac.
Thats what the MOJO PDF file says, tho i cant confirm this as i have a 2011 MacBook Pro 17" and the MOJO plays fine right after i plug it in.
So, the Mojo review is :
.
The volume control is excellent.
Its fun to look at and hold and it has rubber feet on the bottom to grip your typical smooth service, tho it's going to slide right off your Aluminum Mac LT of course.
The fact that it cant be charge via the same USB source similar to the Ra KEB02-ip is a less desirable quality and a curious design, actually.
Now, if you cant afford it, or if you can but want something that is also very good and with more or less the same features then there are 2 excellent alternative - options that i can lead you to if you want to check them out.
One, is the Audient ID22 , as it sounds remarkable, and is the same price obo and is a whole lot bigger.
The other option is the "sleeper" Roland Mobile UA-M10, which is $300 less which is the best you can get for $300.
enjoy.
