Still loving the Mojo 2 it’s a fantastic dac/amp especially the dac part.

Not to be pedantic, but there really is no “amp” part, just a digital->analog part:

I am trying hard to suppress the urge to buy a Vali 3 for bedside use. Hearing that it scales well when feed by the Mojo 2 doesn’t help

Resistance is futile my friend.
Just like the Borg once you start with a valve they just keep multiplying.

The Mojo 2, Vali 3 with a 6n3p-DR valve and your Grado SR125 will be heavenly

It’s just a voltage increase.
Adding other amps will colour the sound.
If you enjoy the change all well and good.
If you don’t you still have a fantastic dac/amp

LOL! Not to pour oil into the fire if your addiction, but that was exactly my thought process as well- a bedside setup paired with even a basic tube-roller indeed makes a very fun combo, to say the least. Chord inputs precision and layering, then the tubes add scale and bloom.

I don't feel like my G111 mk2 color the sound, but rather it seems to drive some headphones better, giving more energy and stage size.

Not really. I've been using Garage Lab's Garagebox for a year with dignis leather case for both mojo2 and garage box

What does this gadget do at $200 that this DIY cable doesn't do at $5?

I have tried few inches to four feet.
All good.
It is not the length per se, but if its decent or not. My four foot one was a DIY, with tiniest plugs you ever saw.

The ddhifi USB-C cables are a nice firm click in place fit and they make a variety of lengths.

I don't have a Mojo 2 but use ddhifi Micro USB cable with my OG Mojo and their USB-C to C cables with a bunch of other USB-C devices and they work great.

There was a lot of talk here some time back about white noise issues and cables and the latest ddhifi cable was reported to be essentially a cure, I suspect due to the solid fit that doesn't get disturbed.

I have the PW audio version which is slightly cheaper. It’s significantly sturdier and less stressful on the 3.5mm Mojo2 jacks. I’d highly recommend this style adapter over the one you showed any day. But sonically, I can’t argue the extra cost matters.

And I have some questions about the equipment:

-If the 3.5mm inputs of the Mojo 2 when connecting the cables, do they tend to rotate, are they loose like other DAPs? or are they fixed tight?

I have 4.4 balanced cables and I'll use a 3.5m adapter

- The DSP EQ function, will it lose some audio information if it is used with less or more frequency?

Get a ddhifi 4.4mm adapter and it won’t matter.

If your adapter is L-shaped, it will swivel.

I do hear improvement with this adapter over the usually 4.4 to 3.5 adapter from DJ44C. DJ44C sort of kills off the dynamic to my ears.

I also had a zephone adapter. Between the zephone and garagebox. the details, music flow and sq on garagebox is better. My garagebox is the neotech palladium plated silver and silver version. I also hear the garagebox having a darker background. I believe this is due it garagebox being shielded. Zephone is made out of plastic. Also garagebox comes with 3.5mm and 4.4mm jack so it's convenient for me since i have use for both and need not plug in and out the adapter. Not to mention it looks prettier especially with the matching Dignis case

If you are wondering how these adapter is being wired, they are taking the left and right signal from the different 3.5mm output. Doing it this on paper minimise the interference (crosstalk).

Disclaimer: The is my own opinion and of course bought with my own money. I know there are non-believer in cables and this sort on snake oil and i'm fine with it. I'm just answering since you asked. Just hoping this will not start a war here.

Not that I can hear. It's for charging purpose only.
