To those of you who got the Mojo 2 update or are thinking of getting it done, I made a video about my experience.

Great vid. Hope that was a cheap headphone you threw on the floor!

After watching the full video, I feel pretty lucky I’ve had a perfect experience. My last dac amp Shure SHA900 had pulsing white noise with my first iPhone SE, but not the second edition 2020. Go figure.iPhone SE 3020

Pretty sure I have a different dd hifi cable. I may try this one and see what happens. Thanks!iPhone SE 3020

I prefer it too. With the MFI06 I had white noise. With Mfi09S no problem.iPhone SE 3020

Am listening to Steely Dan Aja. Yeah, the DAC on this unit is not surpassed by anything under 2 grand, you’re right!
Yours is different. Could tell in the videoPretty sure I have a different dd hifi cable. I may try this one and see what happens. Thanks!
I've got some chicken soup spilled on my phone. That's what's causing my white noise issue....or maybe it's the cocaine...
Get a DAP with coaxial out to feed the Mojo, far reduced chance of white noise it seems.

Thanks for the video update Chibs! I did the firmware upgrade with The Sound Organization in Texas because I was getting white noise with a 2020 iPad Pro (USB-C to USB-C) and M1 Max Macbook Pro 2021; I never had a problem with an iPhone 12 Mini (using CCK). The white noise was very rare for me (only if I moved the cable too much) so I wasn’t really bothered, but when I saw post about the upgrade, I said, “Why Not?
The white noise issue to me was very similar to the one I experienced (with many other early adopters) on the Lotoo Paw S2 when it first came out: move the cable too much and the USB chip lost sync and did not fail gracefully, thus producing a white noise at set volume until unplugged and replugged. When the Lotoo folks pushed the firmware update out (thankfully it was user-upgradable and not needing me to ship it halfway across the US) the solution seemed to be that if the USB lost sync, the music just stopped on the player and you just had to hit play again; like if you pulled a dongle out when playing music.
Well, that’s exactly how this fix for the mojo 2 is behaving: if I move the cable too much (which would usually cause the white noise) now just stops the music and I have to just hit play again.
Another interesting thing I learned from your video: you confirmed for me that they had to open the case. I suspected this since my Mojo 2’s case screws showed wear and tear and the top case was not my original one (my case had a big scratch in it and the new one was pristine, but the base was the same with the same serial number sticker).
Cheers

Yes, a good option. I tried coax out of a FiiO M11+ LTD (OG AKM) and it was fine. But I also had no problems with USB out from the M11 either to the Mojo 2. So I think this is maybe an Apple problem (?). Anyone have the white noise issue on something other than Apple kit?Get a DAP with coaxial out to feed the Mojo, far reduced chance of white noise it seems.
Interesting! Now I’m wondering if I should get them to update my Mojo 2 replacement. Thanks for sharing this. Thanks for the video update Chibs! I use my original Mojo with FiiO M11 Plus LTD also, mostly with coaxial but also occasionally with USB which has also been fine.
I have had two white noise issues with my original Mojo and both were when I was A/B checking against other gear and was plugging and unplugging cables quickly. Never had a problem when just using it normally sitting on my desk with any source including an iPad mini 6.
