This is my portable set up theses days, the flexibility of the short optical cable allows me to stack the DAP & Mojo in different ways.

The thickness of the stack shown in the first photo wraps perfectly in my hand (thanks to the ultra slim external USB battery pack powering the Mojo) any thinner and the tip of my fingers would reach/rest on the volume balls.

I am one of those people who prefers using a dedicated DAP as opposed to a smartphone because i don't like music getting interrupted by phone calls, messaging, etc and more importantly; the reduced battery life. Besides, smartphones are thin enough to slide in any other pocket.

Thanks to Apple's MagSafe solution I can now finally attach the Mojo to all my devices rather easily. I bought this "wall" magnetic MagSafe compatible ring on Amazon and it works great with either iPhones directly to iPhones, iPhones with MagSafe case or any other devices providing you stick a MagSafe ring on the back of the device...

My original mojo is acting up. The battery has been bad. It would just drain if I left the unit off for a few days, but it was still charging normally. Now, it will not charge if I do not turn the unit on, and it does not seems like the battery is storing any charges while doing that. Once I unplug the USB from the charging port, the unit will just shut off. Basically, I can only use it as a desktop dac/amp now. It still sounds as good as it is though. Is this just a sign that the battery is completely dead?

I would say yes.
You better get that battery out. They can inflate and leak.

Unscrew the base of the case and check your battery. If it is swollen then unplug and remove it, because it is a fire hazard plus could bend and crack the circuit board.

As others have posted, it is possible to buy replacement batteries, or alternatively run the Mojo without the battery, but with the charger connected.

Or run it from an external battery bank and never worry about overheating again or the internal battery losing its charge when not in use.

Apparently I wanted to point out to Chord that their batteries are unacceptable expensive… I think this is so difficult for you to understand..
I had my Mojo classic battery changed by Chord.
£40 for the batteries, the labour and postage and return packaging.
Included %20 VAT.
On AliExpress ( A misnomer!) you can get reasonable copies for $20.
What did you expect? 99c ?

Yep, I bought a spare from Ali Express for very reasonable money to have sitting waiting for my Mojo battery to die.

I bought the Mojo new at a nice discount when the 2 was released so I don’t expect to need to replace it anytime soon.
